On July 30, 2006 I rushed to La Tejita beach, in the south of Tenerife island. It was midday and the beach was full of tourists. A boat with 88 people on board had just arrived Sub-Saharan Africa. The people on the beach reacted immediately, giving the starving and thirsty arrivals water, food and shelter until the Red Cross arrived
